Our Story
We couldn't find a soap that checked every box. So we spent two years making one.
We were tired of choosing between bars that smelled great and bars our skin actually liked. After dozens of formulas, long cure times, scent tests and plenty of failed batches, we created the bar we had been looking for ourselves. We refused to launch until we perfected a bar that stayed firm, smelled great, and left skin feeling truly comfortable.

Why Compass Soap Co.?
Many commercial cleansing bars are designed for low cost and long shelf life. Therefore, you don't always get the best ingredients for your skin. We build ours differently, using premium oils, rich butters, naturally retained glycerin, and a superfatting formula to create a creamy lather that leaves skin feeling clean and comfortable.
Every bar starts with olive oil, shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter, and castor oil. Depending on the soap, we also use ingredients like mineral-rich clays, activated charcoal, botanicals, and essential oils to give each bar its own character and performance.
We cure every bar for a minimum of six weeks because the extra curing time creates a harder, longer-lasting bar. We would rather wait the extra weeks to deliver you a more valuable bar that doesn't melt away quickly in the shower.
Superfatting means we add extra oils and butters beyond what is needed for soap-making. These excess fats remain in the finished bar to nourish and moisturize your skin.
Absolutely not. Our bars are free from parabens, phthalates, silicones, and SLS, and we never use artificial dyes. Instead, all of our colors come from mineral-rich clays, activated charcoal, botanicals, and other naturally derived ingredients.
The longevity of your bar can depend on a variety of factors, such as how often you shower, how dry you keep your bar between uses, water type, and amount of lather & body hair. For most of our customers, a bar will last 3-4 weeks or even longer. To extend their lifespan, it's best to store your soap in a place that allows it to dry out between uses, such as on one of our soap savers. This will also help to prevent your soap from sticking to your shower shelf.
Many customers with sensitive skin tell us our bars are some of the most comfortable they've used. While everyone's skin is different and we can't promise specific results, we carefully formulate our soaps with with intentional ingredients and all skin types in mind, including sensitive skin like our own.
Every Compass Soap bar is handcrafted in small batches in the USA. We oversee every step, from mixing and pouring to curing, cutting, and packaging, so every bar meets the standards we'd expect for our own families.
