Why Compass Soap Co.
What Makes Compass Bath Bombs Different
SKIN-CONDITIONING INGREDIENTS
Coconut milk powder, shea butter, and sweet almond oil help leave skin feeling soft and conditioned while you soak.
EPSOM SALT IN EVERY SOAK
Epsom salt adds to the relaxing bath experience, making these just as fitting for winding down at the end of the day as they are for treating yourself.
NO ARTIFICIAL DYES
We use naturally derived clays and botanicals instead of artificial dyes, adding subtle color to the bath while keeping the formula focused on ingredients that do more than just look pretty.
More than fizz
We skip SLS, a foaming surfactant often used to create oversized bubbles and dramatic foam. It can be drying or irritating for some skin, so our bath bombs focus on a gentler soak with skin-conditioning oils, butters, and a softer fizz.
YOUR BATH BOMB SHOULD DO MORE THAN JUST FIZZ.
Epsom salt. Coconut milk.
Shea butter. Sweet almond oil.
Mineral-rich clays and botanicals.
A bath made for your skin, not just the show.
How It Works
When your bath bomb hits the water, sodium bicarbonate and citric acid create the fizz that helps break it apart and disperse it through the bath. For a little soft foam and gentle cleansing, we use SCI (Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate), a mild coconut-derived surfactant sometimes nicknamed “baby foam” by formulators because of its gentle, creamy lather. It gives the bath some cleansing power without SLS often used in other bath bombs, which can be more drying or irritating to some skin. Coconut milk powder, shea butter, and sweet almond oil add conditioning richness, while Epsom salt and mineral-rich clays and botanicals elevate the soak.
What's in your soak?
Not All Bath Bombs Are Made the Same
| Compass Bath Bombs | why we chose it | |
|---|---|---|
| SCI instead of SLS | Gentler, soft, creamy foam | SLS can create more dramatic foam, but can irritate skin, so we leave it out |
| Mineral-rich clays + botanicals | Subtle, earthy color | No artificial dyes |
| Coconut milk, shea butter + sweet almond oil | A richer, conditioning soak | Because what’s in the water should matter too |
| Epsom salt | Included in every bomb | Adds to the full soaking experience |
| Polysorbate 80 | Helps disperse oils through the water | Less oily residue + slippery tub feel |

MORE THAN A PRETTY BATH
Color, scent, and fizz make a bath fun. What’s in the water matters too. That’s why our bath bombs pair mineral-rich clays and botanicals with Epsom salt, coconut milk, shea butter, sweet almond oil, so what looks good dropping into the tub feels good to soak in too.
Questions, answered.
Our bath bombs fizz, but we intentionally skip SLS, a surfactant commonly used to create large amounts of foam and bubbles. SLS can be drying or irritating for some skin, so we focus instead on a softer soak with conditioning oils, butters, coconut milk, Epsom salt, and clay.
We intentionally leave out SLS, artificial dyes and use gentler SCI for softer cleansing. If you’re particularly sensitive, review the ingredient list before use and discontinue if irritation occurs.
You don’t have to. The oils, butters, coconut milk, and other conditioning ingredients are there to be part of the soak. If you prefer a cleaner-skin feel afterward, a quick rinse is completely fine.
No. We use clays and botanicals, giving each bath bomb its color without relying on artificial dyes.
Despite the technical-sounding name, Polysorbate 80 is a skin-safe emulsifier commonly used in bath and body products. It helps the oils and butters in our bath bombs disperse evenly through the water instead of floating on the surface, giving you a more even soak and a less slippery tub afterwards.
Our colors come from clays and botanicals, which tend to be on the lighter side opposed to artificial dyes. We use Polysorbate 80 helps ingredients disperse through the water instead of clinging to the tub. We still recommend rinsing the tub after use, especially with porous, textured, or damaged surfaces.
Keep it wrapped and somewhere cool and dry until you’re ready to use it. Humidity and moisture can start the fizzing reaction early and weaken the bath bomb over time.
